Why
create yet another "my transition" page to add to the myriad of pages
out on the internet already? Well, when I was researching low-dose
testosterone I found next to nothing about it. In fact, I found only
two transition pages where it was mentioned. Therefore, I decided
to create this page so that if anyone wanted some answers about low-dose
they might be able to them here.
I
started low-dose testosterone on August 26th, 2005. My decision to
transition physically was by no means easy. I could not explain in
it in a sentence or in a paragraph. What I can easily say about it,
though,
was that
in the end it had little to do with gender and much to do with what
I felt my body needed.
I
underwent chest reconstruction surgery on
Febuary 28th, 2006.
On
April 2nd, 2006, I increased my dosage to 80mg/week. I
chose to do this in order to finally shut down my ovaries, amongst
other reasons. I was still glad I started at a lower dosage.
Before
I even began thinking about testosterone there were some other options
I explored first.
From February
to June of 2005 I used Rogaine
on my face to encourage beard growth. (DISCLAIMER: I do NOT advocate
that anyone else try this! It can be extremely harmful to your health!)
And
from March 14th through July 14th, 2005, I took a tincture made from Sarsaparilla daily.
Sarsaparilla is known to contain plant hormones which are chemically
similiar to testosterone.
I
finalized my decision to go on testosterone on July 22nd, 2005.
